The YAO offers a variety of high level music ensembles for the students & young professionals in the Las Vegas Valley including a full Symphony Orchestra, String Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra, and Percussion Ensemble for the students of Southern Nevada. Our students are exposed to professional caliber music that challenges them and allows them to grow as young artists.
Our young artists have the opportunity to perform in over 15 concerts and events per season and collaborate with nationally and world renowned guest artists in a variety of fields including classical, jazz, and world music. Our young artists have had the opportunity to perform for major televised events including the Super Bowl LVIII, Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix, Latin Grammy Awards, and Country Music Awards. Â Past notable guest artists include violinists Mark Fewer Stanislav Pronin, and Grace Park, violist Steven Dann, jazz veteran Roberto Occhipinti, cellist Daniel Hass, The Lique, pianists Benjamin Smith, Alexandria Le, and Lucas Porter, and many more.
The YAO has an instrument bank of fine & professional grade instruments available for students to use on loan. In 2019, the Bank had over $160,000 worth of violins, violas, and cellos owned by or on-loan to the YAO.
Regardless of background and wealth, we acknowledge and reward talent, hard work, and dedication. Students in our music & entrepreneur programs learn and develop basic life skills and discipline required to become successful citizens.
