Welcome to the inaugural year of the Las Vegas Young Artists Orchestra. This orchestra was created to highlight the talented young artists throughout Southern Nevada, who bring their creativity and exceptional musicality to 6 orchestral concerts, and 4 intimate chamber music performances.
Our programming for the 2015/16 season is innovative and of the most diverse. Audiences will look forward to complete works by famed composers like Bach, Mozart, Mahler, and Shostakovich, in addition to exploring new contemporary pieces, including the Kronos Quartet’s popular “Aheym” by Bryce Dessner, and Ali-Zadeh’s “Mugam Sayagi.” Furthermore, the season features several guest artists who will join the orchestra as soloists and/or teachers. The Winter Inspired concert will see Canadian Soprano, Rachel Krehm, make her Las Vegas debut in Mahler’s Songs of a Wayferer. Other guest artists include Las Vegas virtuoso bassist, Brycen Ingersoll, Canadian clarinetist, Jonathan Krehm, and members of The Annex Quartet. The season is expected to be one of the most important artistic endeavors presented to residents of Southern Nevada and we invite you to celebrate our local talent.
