The Dr. Shirley Linzy Young Artists Orchestra of Las Vegas | Yunior Lopez, Founder


Created and developed by Yunior Lopez, One Night in Havana celebrates the incredible music of pre-revolution Cuba. The performance project features Cuban singer Noybel Gorgoy backed by a full symphony orchestra. Reminiscent of Buena Vista Social Club’s revival of pre-revolutionary Cuban music, One Night in Havana features Buena Vista classics like Chan Chan, Quizas, Quizas, Quizas, and El Cuarto de Tula, alongside other Cuban favorites popularized by artists like Celia Cruz, Beny More, and Los Zafiros. Orchestral arrangements and transcriptions were done by famed Cuban pianist and band leader Hilario Duran, jazz bassist Roberto Occhipinti, Mexican composer Arturo Hernandez, and Yunior Lopez. The project blends a variety of Cuban, Spanish, and American genres & styles including bolero, Cuban son, doo-wop, jazz, and tango. 


A colorful and magical celebration of the Day of the Dead, this reimagined concert experience features music from the spectacular Disney and Pixar film “Coco” alongside Latin-American favorites that highlight the cultural tradition. Voted Best of Las Vegas Arts & Culture Event, The Young Artists Orchestra and Music Director Yunior Lopez are joined by a sensational mariachi and special guests. Experience a colorful celebration of Mexican heritage and culture with a special performance of music inspired by Dia de los Muertos.


The Reimagined Project is a professional recording & performance initiative featuring modernized orchestrations of famed classical works. The project was conceived during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, and pushed the creative limits, imagination and artistry.  The project explores famed classical masterpieces by celebrated composers: Antonio Vivaldi (Winter), Johann Sebastian Bach (Chaconne), Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (Lacrimosa), Ludwig van Beethoven (Für Elise), and Giacomo Puccini (Nessun Dorma). With the exception of Maximilian Steinberg’s 1911 Chaconne transcription, each work was altered and modernized by living composers including Arturo Hernandez, Roberto Occhipinti, Hilario Duran, and Yunior Lopez. The recording was produced released by Modica Music Records and is available on all streaming networks.


The Lique, one of Vegas’ hottest bands, partners with the Young Artists Orchestra to create, develop, and produce a unique project featuring their original music. The project is a multi-genre musical experience as the jazz/funk/hip-hop quintet joins collaborates with a classical ensemble. The Lique is made up of RASAR (Emcee/Rapper), Sean Carbone (Guitar), Jason Corpuz (Keys), Jeremy Klewicki (Drums), and Nick Schmitt (Bass). Orchestral transcriptions were done by members of The Lique. Project features complete performances of albums Democracy Manifest and Times Like These. 


Night at the Opera is a collaborative performance project with Vegas City Opera. The project features operatic favorites from Mozart, Puccini, and Bizet, to other popular works people think is opera such as Francesco Sartori’s Con te partirò. The project also features unique orchestral transcriptions of operatic favorites like Nessun Dorma and Intermezzo from Cavallerai Rusticana. The project featured members of Vegas City Opera and International Mexican Baritone Luis Castillo.
