The Dr. Shirley Linzy Young Artists Orchestra of Las Vegas | Yunior Lopez, Founder

This summer the YAO is hosting a chamber music camp for young musicians. The camp will allow 3-5 students at a time to work and perform alongside a YAO Faculty member or visiting artist. Students will attend daily rehearsals at the YAO Space and will also meet online with their respective mentoring artist.

Participants will be subject to all safety protocols including social distancing (6 ft), wearing masks, and entry temperature checks. The facility will go through intense cleaning and sanitation each day. Only 3-5 students will be allowed in the room at a time and students will remain 6 ft apart throughout their respective rehearsals and performance.

The program is open to all string players up to ages 10-22. Wind/brass students may apply, but participation is subject to instrumentation. Pre-formed groups are welcome.

Students may attend session 1 from July 13 – 17 and/or session 2 from July 20 – 24. Each group will be meet and work their Mentor Artist for up to 2 hours per day (times will be scheduled between 9 am – 5pm). Some classes will be held online. All rehearsals will be hosted at the YAO Space in Maryland Square at 3661 S. Maryland Parkway next to the Adelson Clinic.
