Tristan Macaggi, an Italian-born violist from Las Vegas, Nevada, is a highly sought-after performer in orchestral, chamber music, and solo settings. He recently completed his studies under the esteemed Steven Dann at the Glenn Gould School. Tristan has collaborated with world-class musicians such as Krystof Chorzelski of the Belcea Quartet, Karen Dreyfus, Steven Tenenbom, Juan Miguel Hernandez, Pablo Hernan Benedi, Dimitri Murrath, David Alberman, Levon Chilingirian, Richard Lester, and Lech Antonio Uszynski.
Recent performance highlights include concerts across Ontario with the National Academy Orchestra of Canada under Alain Trudel. This past season, Tristan performed with the Kelemen Quartet, showcasing works by Béla Bartók, and participated in contemporary chamber music performances with the Kronos Quartet at the Royal Conservatory’s 21C Festival. Over the summer, he attended the Domaine Forget Chamber Music Intensive, performing alongside members of the Arditti, Chiaroscuro, Chilingirian, Brentano, and London Haydn Quartets. Additionally, he played in the inaugural season of Chisel Classical in Bragg Creek, Alberta, featuring works by Brahms and Dvořák.
