Orei Odents is a 17 year old violist who was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, and is a senior at the Las Vegas Academy of the Arts. Last year, he was named the LVA Orchestra Outstanding Junior of the Year. He has been principal viola for the 9-10th grade and 11-12th grade CCSD Honor Orchestras and has been in the Nevada All State orchestra for all three years that he has been eligible. He was a part of the quartet that placed first in the 2015 Bolognini Competition and placed third in the International Young Musicians Festival “Passion of Music 2014”. The group got the opportunity to perform at the wonderful Dimenna Center in New York City. Orei began playing viola six years ago at age 11. He has taken part in Masterclasses with Csaba Erdélyi, Nokuthula Ngwenyama, Hal Grossman, Giora Schmidt, among others. This past summer, Orei attended the Castleman Quartet Program for seven weeks in Fredonia, New York. While there, he received lessons from Basil Vendryes, Csaba Erdélyi, Allyson Dawkins, and George Taylor. Orei is currently studying with Yunior Lopez and they are preparing for Orei to audition to multiple music conservatories. His top schools include Eastman School of Music, New England Conservatory, San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and the Cleveland Institute of Music.
