Dāja Robinson will be a Sophomore at The Las Vegas Academy of the Arts and will be part of the acclaimed LVA Philharmonic Orchestra for the 2016-2017 season. She has been studying the viola since 6 th grade and began private instruction under the tutelage of Mrs. Sharon Street-Caldwell during her 7 th grade year. Dāja soon became principal violist throughout her 7 th and 8 th grade years at Del Webb Middle School. Since her start, Dāja has been very active in her viola endeavors, participating in Honor Orchestra for 2 consecutive years (2014-2016) and more recent Nevada School of the Arts – NSA (2015-2016). She has excelled in her music studies and competitions, achieving scores of all “1’s” for four years of Solo & Ensemble and her first year of Regionals (2015-2016). She also took part in masterclasses performed for Helen Callus and Jorge Martinez-Rios.
Dāja was a member the National Junior Honor Society throughout middle school. She enjoys spending timewith her friends and family, along with her youth group from church. Dāja also takes pride in volunteering her time at the local church, where she interns during the summer months. She is looking forward to continuing her music endeavors with the viola, and is honored to now be a member of The Las Vegas Young Artists Orchestra.
