The Dr. Shirley Linzy Young Artists Orchestra of Las Vegas - Yunior Lopez, Founder & Music Director

The 2018 Summer Music Institute for young string players will take place this coming July. Students will attend daily rehearsals under YAO Music Director, Yunior Lopez, work alongside professional musicians, perform in Masterlcasses, and take part in seminars covering audition preparation and practice. Open to all string players aged 18 and under. Students may attend session 1 from July 9 – 14 and/or session 2 from July 16 – 21 with daily classes from 10 am – 2:00 pm. Hosted in Maryland Square at 3661 S. Maryland Parkway next to the Adelson Clinic across the Boulevard Mall.

The faculty for the 2018 camp includes Yuri Cho and Susan Kim (violins), Yunior Lopez (viola), Andy Smith (cello), and Brycen Ingersoll (double bass). Additional guest artists and events to be announced.


Summer Music Institute Tuition is $200/week or $300 for both weeks

*Scholarships and financial aid is available at first-come-first-serve basis

Please note: students are recommended to have at least 1 year of study for this camp.
*Students participating in both sessions will receive more scholarships where available.
Please explain current financial hardship and/or what is affordable for your particular situation. We cannot honor all requests, but do our best to offer an affordable and memorable experience to all our students.
We recommend you upload a 1-3 minute excerpt of your playing to YouTube and send us the link. You may also email in a video to YAOrchestra@gmail.com. The video will help us in placements within the orchestra and/or chamber groups.
