PROGRAM INFORMATION

The YAO Group Lessons program offers private group lessons to students ages 11-17 who play violin, viola, cello, or double bass. The program is designed to provide students with high quality instruction in a group setting. Students will receive weekly group lessons from members of our faculty, participate in monthly playing tests, and engage with like-minded students in a supportive music environment. The program is a supplement to in-school instruction, and will allow students to fast track their progress by focusing on proper technique, posture, and performance practices. Based on the financial commitment and the need for program consistency, it is important for all students to commit to an entire school year of classes from September to May.

All students in the Las Vegas area are encouraged to register. Program space is limited to 15 violins, 15, violas, 15 cello, and 15 double bass participants, and space will be filled at a first-come-first-serve basis. Students who miss the cut off will be placed on a wait list.

A limited number of tuition scholarships are available to students who demonstrate significant financial need. Please request scholarship/financial-aid during your registration process.

Based on the financial commitment and the need for program consistency, it is important for all students to commit to an entire school year of classes. There is a $75 early withdraw fee.

INSTRUMENTS

The YAO does not provide instrument rentals or sales. Students are advised to use instruments loaned from their respective schools or rent from a local music store. We have great partnerships in place with local music stores who provide our students with incredible sales and rentals for as little as $15/month (includes insurance). Most importantly, our partners will help measure each student so they find an instrument that fits their needs. We highly advise against buying instruments online as instruments may be too big or small for the student.

Please visit our Music Store partners to inquire about options.

If you have any questions about instrument rentals, purchases, and sizing, then please send us an email at yaorchestra@gmail.com
